Key CRA Dates
The deadlines that matter most for individuals and businesses. When a deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day.
Personal
- Personal tax return (T1)
- Due April 30. If April 30 falls on a weekend, the next business day.
- Self-employed T1
- Due June 15, but any balance owing is still due April 30.
- Tax balance owing
- Due April 30, even if your return is due later.
- RRSP contribution deadline
- 60 days into the new year, usually March 1 or 2.
- Personal tax instalments
- March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15.
Corporate
- Corporate tax return (T2)
- Due 6 months after your corporation’s year-end.
- Corporate tax balance
- Generally due 2 months after year-end. 3 months for many small businesses claiming the small business deduction.
- T4 and T5 slips
- Due the last day of February.
HST
- Annual filers (corporations)
- Return and payment due 3 months after year-end.
- Annual filers (individuals with a Dec 31 year-end)
- Return due June 15, payment due April 30.
- Quarterly and monthly filers
- Return and payment due 1 month after the end of each reporting period.
